Connecting You To Services
Durham Region’s Social Services department provides access to a range of programs and services including:
Resources and supports to assist individuals who need financial or employment assistance.
Financial assistance provides support for expenses, such as basic needs and shelter.
Ontario Works (Social Assistance)
Employment assistance provides support for items, such as job-specific training, access to basic education, and employment workshops.
Employment Supports
Resources and information on homelessness supports including shelter programs, warming centres, the By-Name List and Co-ordinated Access System.
Resources and information on affordable housing (rental housing that was developed with government funding), and Housing Services, including municipal non-profits, private non-profit providers and housing co-operatives.

Information and resources on early learning child care and programs available in your neighbourhood, child care fee help (subsidy), resources for child care professionals and supports for children with special concerns and needs.

Information on individual, couple and family counselling available for people who live or work in Durham Region, offered through Family Services Durham.

Information and resources available on Adult Day Programs, Regional Long-Term Care homes, respite care, and volunteering in a Regional Long-Term Care home.
